Calamus sp. (Borneo)
A beautiful, strongly climbing rattan from the rainforests of Borneo with elegant, long, very finely pinnate leaves with narrow, lax leaflets. The leaf carries a cirrus, a whip-like extension of the leaf midrib that the plant uses to support itself with on other trees. The slender stems are fiercely armed with broad, black spines. The fruits are densely clustered and covered in yellowish brown scales.
