With leaflets up to an incredible 6" (15cm) wide, and attractive
infructescences like green corn-on-the-cob, this is an easily recognizable
member of a variable genus. With all the easy care characteristics of
the other Chamaedorea species, it would make a good house or conservatory
plant or would be useful in the shady tropical to warm-temperate garden
where it's slim, solitary, ringed, dark green trunks, to 4m/13ft tall,
will give a bamboo-like look.
