Western Flag Iris
This member of the Iridaceae family is native to the western and southern parts of Tasmania, where it grows in grasslands, in alpine and sub-alpine regions. It presents erect stems, stiff, grass-like leaves and a beautiful white flowers with bright purple and yellow markings. It is snow and frost tolerant and should grow well in temperate gardens in USDA Zones 8 to 10. It also makes an excellent pot plant.
