A large sedge to about 1,5 m tall, native to wetlands and creeksides throughout coastal southern Australia. This tussock-forming sedge grows arching, narrow, rough foliage and a stiff inflorescence composed of many spikelets, each with a yellowish-brown flower. A nice ornamental for warm temperate climates, very tolerant of saline conditions and an excellent soil stabilizer. It prefers well-drained soils and is hardy to USDA Zone 8.
